COMMUNITY

Salon Jacqueline and Spa sponsored a wonderful pre event where they brought in all the girls to the Spa with the purchase of a ticket to the 2nd Annual City Wide Father Daughter Dance and provided over 200 young ladies with free manicures and free pedicures this was supposed to be a one day event but due to the high volume of participants they opened their doors another day to make sure all the young ladies were serviced, Ms. Jacqueline and Teresa Mathis co owner stated this was a meaningful event for them because they enjoyed giving back to the community and they thought that DCI was providing a much needed service to the community. In the future when you are considering Salon or Spa services please consider Salon Jacqueline & Spa  located at 29935 Northwestern Hwy Southfield, MI, 248-356-6590

Barat Child and Family Services has been serving the community for more than 80 years. Barat provides a safe and nurturing

home for girls ages 12-17 that are survivors of physical, sexual, verbal abuse, abandonment and  neglect. Barat girls are victims of tragic circumstances and unfortunately without the support of the generous folks in the the community who reach out to support these young ladies their plight would be unbearable

.

For example, through our relationship with Dad’s Club Inc. we had the opportunity to participate in the 2008 Father Daughter Dinner Dance where our girls received makeovers, beautiful dresses and escorts to the wonderful event. For them it was the time of their life! They danced ate and looked beautiful among the more than 500 guest that attended the event.

For those girls that still remain at Barat today who participated last year are excited to be included again this year and are motivating the new girls in the program to get excited about this years dance. Barat House is truly appreciative and honored to be part of the 2009 Father Daughter Dinner Dance and we are looking forward to a great evening once again.

Sincerely

The Detroit Pistons and Detroit Shock are proud to acknowledge their recent partnership with Dad’s Club Inc. Over the next few months, this union will help increase the bond between fathers and daughters through two major events – the May 25 Dad & Daughter Night at The Palace of Auburn Hills, and the April 12 Dad & Daughter Dance at The Wintergarden (Renaissance Center).

The benefits of a strong father-daughter relationship are far-reaching, as are the benefits of physical education to girls and women, all of which makes the partnership between the Pistons, Shock and Dad’s Club Inc. an impactful and inspirational one to the hundreds of girls that it will touch.

The Detroit Pistons and the Detroit Shock are looking forward to ensuring the success of both of these events, and trust that it is but the beginning of a relationship that will grow in scope and influence over the years.
